Norma Ann (Mathis) Helmick

Obituary

Norma Ann Helmick, 90, of Middletown, MD passed away on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  Born May 22, 1932 in Georgia, she is the daughter of the late Elbert Norman and Rebecca Ann (Sumner) Mathis.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Eugene Helmick, Jr., and her siblings Betty Lou Honeycutt and Charlotte Boatwright.  

She worked for CVS in Middletown and enjoyed going to the library, fishing,  and was a history and ancestry buff.  

Ann is survived by her children   Elbert E. Helmick, and his wife, Beth A. of Sabillasville, Nena Rhoderick and her husband, Jerry of Middletown, and Gary J. Helmick of Middletown; grandchildren Karen Marie, Daniel Lee and Sara E. Helmick, Tamara Jo Chuha and Jody Renee Evans; great grandchildren Blake Ahn and Teagan Mai Helmick, Ashton Rhys Chuha, Owen Richard and Lucas Carlton Evans; a brother Steve Honeycutt and sister Becky Keswick, as well as her cat, Abbie.

Ann was very active and a founding member of Valley Baptist Church, 5678 Holter Road, Middletown, MD where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 at 1:00 PM.  Pastor Larry Nelson will preside.  Interment to immediately follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.  Viewing will be held one hour prior to the funeral at church.
