Betty J. Bowlus, 90, of Middletown, MD, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.Born July 17, 1931, in Middletown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Foster Minnick and Agnes E. (Byrem) Minnick.

Betty graduated from Middletown High School in 1948.  She worked as a seamstress for many years before transitioning to a contracting job at Ft. Detrick. She had a passion for gardening, was an avid animal lover and...

Betty J. Bowlus, 90, of Middletown, MD, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown, MD.Born July 17, 1931, in Middletown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Leslie Foster Minnick and Agnes E. (Byrem) Minnick.

Betty graduated from Middletown High School in 1948.  She worked as a seamstress for many years before transitioning to a contracting job at Ft. Detrick. She had a passion for gardening, was an avid animal lover and enjoyed traveling the United States through bus tours. Betty was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown and the Rainbow Belles. She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Bowlus.

She is survived by her brother, Leslie Theodore Minnick and wife Sue; her nephews, Mark Minnick and wife Sherry, Steve Minnick and great-niece Ashley Minnick.

There will be a grave side service for family and friends at Mt. Zion Luthern Church Cemetery on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 11 AM.
