|Jane, Judy, and Julia, I send you each my sympathy at the loss of your mother. Mary was special to me. We became friends when we were put together to serve as co-sponsors of the yearbook at Marsteller. We connected in many ways. When we were both retired we took time for lunch together which always ended with great conversation and laughter. When she was no longer able to go out to eat, we still had our times together, chatting about family, the news of the day, etc. I missed her when she left for NC, but I knew she was in good hands with family nearby. We talked on the phone in those early years away, but that became hard for her as well. We continued to exchange Christmas cards, thanks to you, Janey. I always appreciated that she wanted to continue that. I know these years have been difficult days, for Mary and for each of you and your families. I am not able to make it to the funeral, but please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve over your loss.|

|My sincere sympathy to you all on the passing of Mary. I know it was a long journey for her and you. She loved each of you and her grand children.
The years we spent at Marsteller were several and I treasure the time I spent with Mary. I got to know her and the family well. I will include Brad as he was included. Jane your quilts were outstanding. Julie you were a UVA wonder and a fighter in many ways. Judy you were the youngest and followed into education and on to raising your children. I remember all 3 weddings and how Mary loved each of you. Memories to treasure.
Sorry I can not join you at this time but my thoughts are with each of you. Love to all.
