Clarence (Gene) Eugene Thompson Sr, 57, of Martinsburg, passed on Friday, September 24, 2021 in his home.
Born, July 19, 1964, in Frederick, he was the son of Clarence A. Thompson (preceded 2012) and Frances L. Bowins-Thompson (preceded 1991), and the Husband of Patricia Thompson (preceded 2006).
Gene was a construction worker for many years, who volunteered at Carrol Manor Firehall in his spare time. He enjoyed coaching Football, playing Solitaire, shopping at Walmart and eating at his two favorite restaurants, Denny’s and Golden Corral.  His upbringing was of the Methodist faith, and he attended many churches, while being a member of a singing group “The Gospel Sensations”.
He is survived by 4 Children (Brandy Brown, (Preceded by his death Christopher Smith) Matthew Smith, Clarence Thompson Jr. and Jennifer Thompson), 2 Step-Children (Damian Smith and Brandon Smith), 6 Grandchildren (Cashay Brown, Makaylah Brown, Edzayviar Chinea, Edzavion Chinea, Lylah Chinea and Keyvontay Richardson), 7 Siblings (Harry Weedon III, Silas Weedon, Charles Thompson, Jeffery Thompson, Bruce Thompson and Paris Rodriguez), a companion Angela Smith, and many Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Gene will be missed by his friends, family, coworkers, choir and community.
A Home-Going Service will be scheduled, per the family's discretion. Interment will be held 11 AM on Monday , October 11, 2021. Location Fairview Cemetery, 680 E. Church St., Frederick, MD 21701
