   Mrs. Joyce M. Harshman, 85, of Myersville, MD, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Frederick Memorial Hospital on Monday July 23, 2018. She was the loving and deeply devoted wife to the late Eugene Harshman for almost fifty-five years.
   Joyce was born August 4, 1932 to the late Edgar and Edna Brandenburg Leatherman of Myersville, MD. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1951 and worked for the Frederick County Board of Education Food Service for over twenty-five years. She was a good cook, loved to garden and in the past made braided rugs and quilts.
   Joyce loved to spend time with her family and travel with her late husband. She was a loving mom, grandmother and friend to all. She was a lifetime member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wolfsville.
   She is survived by her children Alan Eugene and wife Martha Harshman of Myersville and Barbara Sue and husband Al Kemp of Frederick, and precious grandchildren Ryan Harshman and Elena Kemp. Her sister, Marilyn Gaver of Myersville and brother, William Leatherman of Wolfsville and very best friends for life, Nancy and the late Lawrence Lewis of Myersville.
   She was predeceased by her brother, Clarence Leatherman and sisters, Jane Delauter, Ruth Palmer and Esther Holshouser.
   Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Friday July 27 from St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 12704 Wolfsville Rd., Smithsburg, MD 21783. The family will receive friends on Friday at the church one hour prior to the service. Rev. Karen Grossnickle will officiate.
   Interment will be made in the adjoining church cemetery.
   Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Lutheran church cemetery fund.
   Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown is in charge of arrangements.
