Mrs. Nancy J Reeder, 84, of Middletown, Maryland, entered her eternal home in heaven on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick. She was the loving and deeply devoted wife of Kenneth Reeder for a short 63 years.

Born on August 28, 1933 in Middletown, MD, she was the daughter of the late J. Herman and Elsie Dutrow Harshman. She graduated from Middletown High School in 1951, and married her childhood sweetheart in 1954. They were inseperable. Nancy graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1954 from Washington County Hospital. She worked as an RN for two years until starting a family and becoming a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She continued to care off and on through the years for multiple family members. She always made herself available to help anyone the best she could; whether with her medical knowledge or a kind word or listening ear.

Nancy was a lifetime member of Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown, where she was a member of the altar guild for many years. She was also a member of the Mid Valley Homemakers Club. She absolutely loved her flower gardens, feeding and watching song birds, she also loved music, crafting and absolutely adored her family.

She is survived by her children: Kathy S. Huffer and husband David of Middletown, and Gary A. Reeder and wife Jenn of Boonsboro; Four grandchildren: Amy Deavers and husband Bill of Westminster, Sarah Knox and husband Dustin of Smithsburg, Nikki Reeder of Hagerstown, and Natalie Rhoderick and husband Colton of Hagerstown. She leaves behind three treasured great-grandchildren Toby, Rosie, and Tate, one sister Lorraine Watkins of Damascus and various nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother John Harshman and a sister Pat Naugle.

The family will receive friends 3 to 5 PM on Sunday July 15 in the chapel at Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W. Main St., Middletown. Funeral services will be held on Monday July 16 from the church at 11 AM. Rev. Dr. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman will officiate. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.
