Lantz E. Carvelli, of Frederick, Maryland, went to be with his Heavenly Father on April 12, 2018. He was the husband of his loving wife, Julie.
Born December 31, 1970 in Aurora, Colorado, he was the son of Jane Goodwin-Carvelli of Salina, Kansas (formerly of Thornton, Colorado) and the late John Louis Carvelli. He graduated from Middletown High School in 1989. Lantz then enlisted in the Navy where he served 4 years in Charleston, South Carolina. He was a dedicated volunteer firefighter and EMT at Stonewood and Nutter Fort Fire Departments, West Virginia, and for Middletown and Brunswick for many years. He was employed at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from 2005 until 2007. From that point on Lantz was employed at Fort Detrick Fire Department, Frederick, Maryland from 2007 until present.
He loved spending time riding his ATV, was an avid Kansas City Chief's fan and enjoyed helping anyone in need. But most of all, he deeply loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be truly missed by all who knew him. He had a special place in his heart for his "Fire Dept. Family".
In addition to his wife, Lantz is survived by his two children, Dalton and Gina, his brother, Brad and Jennifer Carvelli of Golden, Colorado, his in-laws, Wayne and Nancy Bagent of Frederick, his brother-in-law, John Bagent of Sharpsburg and many uncles, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 17 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Donald B Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E Main Street, Middletown, MD. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, April 18 at Zion Lutheran Church, 107 W Main Street, Middletown. Rev. Dr. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman will officiate. Interment will be made in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Middletown.

Please accept my deepest condolences. I know this is a very difficult time for you. When we go through a tragedy like this we often don't know where to find true comfort. Psalms 34 : 18 says, " Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit". We can find comfort from God through and reading His Word the Bible. Romans 15 : 4 says, "For all the things that were written beforehand were written for our instruction, so that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope".
