Mrs. Marion Statton (Gladstone) DeLauder of Jefferson, MD, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Myersville. She was the wife of Robert S. DeLauder who died in 2012. They were married for sixty-seven years.
Born in Brunswick on October 28, 1924 she was a daughter of the late John W. and Statton Evans Gladstone of Brunswick.
Marion was many things to many people. First and foremost she was a farmer's wife with all the duties that entails; animals, field work, gardening, canning, etc. Add raising six children to that list and you can see she didn't have a lot of spare time. But when she did she enjoyed reading, watching the "soaps" (while doing mending) , church and teaching Sunday School, and in the later years joined the Frederick chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star where she was the secretary for over twenty years and Past Guardian of Job's Daughters. she was also a bus aide for Rock Creek School and loved her 'kids'. But best of all were her children and grandchildren. Nothing could put a sparkle in her eyes faster than having them visit and play with her.
Marion is survived by her children: Robert S. DeLauder and wife Lisa of Union Bridge, Elaine Harp and husband Chuck of Jefferson, Linda DeLauder and husband Bill Steigelmann of Myersville, John DeLauder and wife Kathy of Broad Run, Kathy Fieseler and husband John of Keymar, Penny Bryant and husband Mike of Middletown, Grandchildren; Robbie and Jerry DeLauder(Steph), Robert DeLauder III (Reaya), Sherry Lynn Wight(Adam), Charlie DeLauder, Elena Trott, Amy archer(Mike) and Shawn Stottlemyer. She also has eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Marion also leaves behind a beloved sister, Kate King of California and a sister-in-law Ruth Gladstone of Lynchburg, VA, and a brother-in-law, Joe Himes of Brunswick, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She also leaves to mourn her passing,  'Sam' her furry feline. She was preceded in death by a great-grandson Logan Wight, brothers Edward Gladstone and Arthur Gladstone (Harriett) and sister Marcella Himes, and brother-in-law Bill King.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday October 1 from 3 to 5 PM in the chapel of Christ Reformed Church, 12 S. Church St., Middletown. Funeral services will be held there on Monday October 2 at 11 AM. There will also be a viewing one hour prior to the church service on Monday.

Rev. Mark A. Wakefield will officate. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Frederick City Soup Kitchen Program, 14 E. All Saints St., Frederick, MD 21701 or to the Salvation Army,223 W. 5th St., Frederick, MD 21701

My heart is just broken over the passing of "Grandma". She had such a beautiful heart and spirit. If you were one of the lucky ones who got last years Christmas card from her you can see she had a great sense of humor too! My prayers go out to all the family and friends who will also be mourning this loss. Her faith in the Lord gives comfort knowing she knew He was there waiting for her with His arms open. Much Love, Ami and Family
