Joseph Martin Linton, 74, Woodsboro, died Wednesday May 18 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of the late Maryland Virginia Linton.

Born in Frederick Co., October 20, 1941 he was a son of the late Martin Luther and Mary Virginia Main Linton. He was employed with Glenn E. Waltz Plumbing for forty-four years as a plumber until his retirement and was with the Department of Natural Resources as a reserve officer for a number of years where he won many awards.He was a life member of of Libertytown Fire Dept. and Lewistown fire Dept. and a member of American Legion Post 282 Woodsboro. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman

He is survived by:
1 daughter - Faith Leatherman and her husband Bradley - Union Bridge
5 grandchildren - Dylan T. Sefsic, Taylor A. Leatherman, Brooke M. Leatherman, Corey M. Linton
2 sisters and 1 brother - Mary C. Masser, John L. Linton, Geneva M. Crummitt - all of Frederick
He was predeceased by his son Joseph D. Linton in 2000.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday May 25 from 6 to 8 PM at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown. Graveside funeral services will be held 11 AM on Thursday May 26 in Locust Valley Bible Church Cemetery, 1323 Marker Rd., Middletown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Frederick Co., POB 199, 516 Trail Ave., Frederick, MD 21702.

Joe Linton's Family,
Brenda and I are so sorry for your loss. I was Joe's first Regional Coordinator and in charge of the Program from the Program's first inception.
Joe was a VERY GOOD Volunteer for the Maryland Natural Resources Police, Reserve Officer Program.
Our Prayers are for you ALL !!

To the family, I am so sorry to read of Joe's passing. I knew Joe from working at Glenn Waltz Plumbing and Heating. He was a very nice person and fun to be around. Please accept my sincere sympathy.
