John Joseph Gallagher, 90, Middletown died Monday April 11 at Greenfield Senior Living in Hagerstown. He was the husband of Marilyn Gallagher.

Born in Baltimore on January 10, 1926 he was a son of the late Charles and Delia Madigan Gallagher. He was employed as a rigger with Bethlehem Steel Co in Baltimore retiring after thirty-one years. He was an avid Maryland Terrapins basketball fan, all the Baltimore Sports teams and collector of antiques. He was a US Navy veteran of WW II where he participated with British and Canadian forces in the Normandy invasion on D-Day.

Surviving, besides his wife, are:
2 children - William Robert. Gallagher - Middletown and Melanie Sue Mundell - Newark, DE
5 step-children - Marilyn Coliano - Bel Air; John Tracy - Glen Burnie; Geraldine Tracy- Tibeurn, CA;   Kathy Galusha - Orlando, FL; Regina Newcome - San Francisco, CA
17 grandchildren
He was predeceased by a step-daughter Meg Rosenberger and his brother Joseph Gallagher.

Funeral services will be held 10 AM on Friday April 15 in the chapel in Rocky Gap Maryland Veteran's Cemetery, Flintstone, MD with burial to follow.

Dear Bill and Gallagher Family Sorry to hear of your loss. I had the pleasure of meeting John not long ago. I am glad I did.
