Maurice Shriver Ahalt, 100, of Middletown, passed from this life on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.
He was the husband of Charlotte “Regina” Beachley Ahalt, his wife of nearly 64 years.

Born November 4, 1914 on the family farm on Picnic Woods Road, Middletown, he was a son of the late Maurice “Foster” and Sarah Virginia “Jennie” (Shank) Ahalt. He was the last of his immediate family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Virginia “Ginny” and her husband Darrell Wolf, and Regina “Ann” and her husband Bernard Pond, all of Middletown; five grandchildren, Darren Wolf and his wife Sadie of Wolfsville, Stephanie Baldwin and her husband Wyatt of Hedgesville, WV, Tara Feaga and her husband Barry of Jefferson, Jonathan Wolf and Hayden Pond of Middletown, and two great-grandsons Whelen Baldwin and Cullen Baldwin. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by an infant son, Maurice Martin Ahalt, three sisters and six brothers: Martha Coblentz, Mary Ahalt, Frances Ahalt, Leroy, Bruce, P. Edwin, Louis, George, and C. Richard Ahalt.
Mr. Ahalt was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, where he served on the church council and finance committee. He attended Fink’s School, a one room schoolhouse, until 4th grade, and graduated from Middletown High School in 1931. He participated in plays at the Middletown Memorial Hall after high school, where he performed and sang.
He was a life-long dairy farmer. He was a director of Maryland Cooperative Milk Producers Cooperative, Baltimore, served on the Soil Conservation Board, was a past master of Middletown Valley Grange, member of the state and national Holstein Association, past President and director of the Frederick County Holstein Association, long-time 4-H leader, and was a charter member of the 1928 chapter of Middletown FFA. He bowled in the church league at the Arcade Lanes in Frederick for 40 years. After retiring from farming, he enjoyed playing golf until age 97 with the seniors group at Beaver Creek Country Club, Hagerstown, and gardening. He was a dedicated fan of the Maryland Terrapins basketball team and the Washington Redskins.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 22, from two to four and six to eight , in the Chapel at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 23, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary at Zion Lutheran Church. The service will be officiated by Pastor Cris Frigm. Interment will be in the church cemetery immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the memorial fund of Zion Lutheran Church 107 West Main Street, Middletown, MD 21769.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 East Main Street Middletown, Maryland.

Sorry to hear of Maurice's passing. Was glad he celebrated his 100th birthday. Dot and I have been married almost 64 year45s too but I started when I was only twenty. Had to get my mother to sign for me. We had a lot of good times on the board of MD Milk Coop.
