Travis C. Gibson was born on May 23, 1976.  He went home to his Father in heaven on February 12, 2014 at the young age of 37 after a three year battle with Esophageal Cancer. Travis is survived by his wife Nicole Gibson, high-school sweetheart, love of his life, and best friend, and their four beautiful children Hunter, Savannah, Brooklyn, and Reese.  He will be deeply missed by many: his father John Elledge and his wife Florence; two brothers Mike and Rick Gibson; father-in-law Len Gebase and mother-in-law Cathy Tauscher; his sisters-in-law Dana, Renee, Sara, and Jessica and brothers-in-law Josh, Daniel, and Tristan; and nephews, nieces, and dear friends too numerous to name.

Travis rightly earned his nick-name “Superman” and fought until the very end walking in faith every step of the way and living to the max his favorite verse 2 Corinthians 5:7 “We live by faith; not by sight”.  Travis was a man too full of passion for life to justly explain.  He loved his wife and children more than life and his God above all.   He enjoyed singing, playing piano, and teaching guitar.  Travis loved karate all his life but especially enjoyed taking lessons with his son Hunter; playing the guitar and singing with his daughter Savannah; reading and playing games with his youngest children Brooklyn and Reese.  He also loved cooking with his children for family and friends.

Travis was a carpenter and preacher by design and though his vocation was building, with his brothers and then with his son, he felt called to share his faith in God through his trials in this life.  He completed his bachelor of Theology at American Public University.  Travis loved to preach the Word of God whether to family, friends, or complete strangers.  He had a zest for sharing his boundless enthusiasm to teach and disciple all that he knew.
Travis will be so dearly missed and though we are broken by his loss we take comfort in knowing that he is now in Paradise with Christ appointed as guardian angel of his family.
