Mrs. Helen Rocovich Leshkow, 93, Walkersville, passed away on Saturday July 22 at Citizens Care and Rehabilitation Center in Frederick.  Helen was born in Thomas, WV and  lived most of her life in the Scotts Run and Morgantown areas of West Virginia, moving to Maryland later in life.
Her husband, of 34 years, Jay Leshkow, preceded her in death at age 54.  She also had five brothers and four sisters who predeceased her and is survived by two sisters; Dorothy and Margaret, and two daughters; Joann Dettmann of Williamsburg, VA, and husband Darryl; and Bonnie Jacobs of Walkersville, and husband Jay.
She is also survived by four grandchildren: Lisa Jacobs Quick and her husband, John; John V. Jacobs, Chris Dettman Roberts, and David Dettman, and his wife Becky.  Helen also had five great-grandchildren Maggie, McKenzie, and John Samuel Quick, Jordan Fox, and Jack and Grace Dettman.
Helen was a wonderful wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother who persevered and became stronger despite many adversities and challenges.  She loved her role as homemaker: cooking, sewing, crocheting, knitting, canning, and was a classic woman of faith and prayer who believed caring for her husband and girls that was her life goal.  She served as president of the PTA, was employed as a CNA for many years eventually earning her LPN license.  She loved her patients and  was respected by her contemporaries-doctors and nurses alike.
The family will receive friends at the Fredericktowne Baptist Church, 8645 Biggs Ford Rd., Walkersville on Thursday July 26 from 2:30 PM until the time of funeral services at 4 PM. A light supper will be served in the Fellowship Hall at the conclusion of the funeral service.
Helen will be taken home to West Virginia, the state she loved, to be buried at the East Grove Cemetery in Morgantown on Friday July 27 and buried next to the husband she loved. A brief service will be held at 12 noon there.

Bonnie: You and your family are a tremendous testament to your mom's love for the Lord. She left a powerful legacy through her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. When she met the Lord we know she heard those words we all covet, "Well done thy good and faithful servant"! Prayers and hugs go out to you and your family as you walk through the coming weeks and months without her. Love you bunches, Sharon
