Evelyn White Youngblood,
age 87, of Frederick,
Maryland passed away on
November 25, 2011 at the
Golden Living Nursing
Home where she had been
a resident. She will rejoin
her husband of sixty-nine
years, Clifford Cash
Youngblood, who predeceased
her in October.
Evelyn is survived by three
sons, Clifford Jr. and wife
Karin of Middletown, MD;
Kenneth and wife Laurel of
Taos,, NM, and Brent and
wife Nanette of Otisville,
NY; the youngest son,
Douglas, predeceased her;
Doug's wife, Lisa, resides in
Shorewood, MN. There are
ten grandchildren, and six
great-grandchildren. Evelyn
is the sister of Alfred White
(wife, Charlotte) of South
Hill, Virginia. Her brother,
Charles (Sam) White and
sister, Helen Larsen, both
former Bloomingdale, NY
residents, preceded her in
death.
Evelyn was born on July
23, 1923 in Slate Hill, NY.
She married Clifford on
Valentine's Day in 1942 and
together they raised their
four children on the family
dairy farm near
Montgomery, New York.
Evelyn helped milk
cows, bring in hay and prepare
meals for the farmers
who would congregate each
year during harvest season
all the while baking pies
and frosting cakes for "my
boys" and otherwise being
the consummate homemaker.
Evelyn was a woman of
many talents. She was not
only a creative seamstress,
but she also expressed her
art in pottery, painting and
calligraphy. Her paintings
proudly hanging in the
homes of all her sons are a
lasting tribute to her art,
but her 'boys" would be the
first to tell you that the
greatest expression of her
creativity was her motherhood.
She was everything
a caring and nurturing
mother could be.
After Clifford sold the
family farm in 1957 Evelyn
was elected tax collector for
the Town of Crawford, an
office she held until she
took a position with the
New York State Police in
Middletown, NY. Upon
retirement, Cliff and Evelyn
moved to Beverly Hills,
Florida, where they enjoyed
a large circle of friends and
relatives.
At a future date, a memorial
service will be held at the
Brick Church Cemetery in
Montgomery, NY.

I am sorry to hear of the death of both Evelyn and Cliff. Kip and Karen, it has been 27 years since we have seen each other, and I hope you find comfort knowing that you are in my thoughts. Peace to you both.
