William Henry Loren of Berryville, Virginia died May 20, 2009 at the Winchester Medical Center. Mr. Loren was the son of the late Helene D. Kent and Florentin J. Loren.

Mr. Loren was born April 23, 1937 in Washington D.C. and moved to Gaithersburg, Maryland in the 1960's. He had lived in Berryville, Virginia since 1989.

He graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville, Maryland and served in the United States Army and Army Reserves. He was stationed in Munich, Germany with the Military Police. Mr. Loren was a talented artist who began his career in the illustration department of the Reuben Donnelly Company. He later worked for the Army Map Service. In 1972 he became a Director and Vice-President of The Kentland Foundation, Inc., in which capacity he served until his death.

He enjoyed farming, gardening, playing guitar, cooking and spending time with his family. He is predeceased by his sister, Helene Loren Walker and his nephew, Steven O'Neill.

Survivors include his nieces and nephews:
Sheila O'Neill Stedman, Julie MacDowell, Jack Walker, Lexie Hoffman, William Walker, Helene McCarron, Celeste Walker. He is also survived by 17 grand-nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at St. Bridget of Ireland Catholic Church in Berryville, Virginia on Saturday, May 23 rd at 1 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2 p.m.
