Mr. Ronald Francis "Ronnie" Kefauver Sr., 70, Middletown, died suddenly Tuesday April 5 at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Gloria Stockman Kefauver.
Born in Waynesboro, PA, June 25, 1940 he was raised by his grandparents John and Mary Kefauver. He was employed by the Model Garage in Middletown for 19 years and retired after 22 years with the Frederick Co. Board of Education. He was a life member of the Middletown Volunteer Fire Co. where he attained the rank of Sgt. and Lt. He was an avid bowler, fisherman, and gardener. He was also a member of Christ Reformed UCC, Middletown.
Surviving, besides his wife, are:
1 son - Ronald F. 'Pete" Kefauver Jr. and wife Kim Miskell - Middletown
1 daughter - Virginia Lee Flook and husband John - Hagerstown
5 grandchildren - Amanda Lynn Kefauver, Steven Bradley Kefauver, Danielle Nicole Kefauver, Derek Eugene Flook, Jonathan Lee Flook
2 step-grandchildren - Trent Wood and Cody Wood
1 half-brother - Doug Kefauver - Frederick
3 half-sisters - Doreen Kefauver - Mt. Aetna; Donna Jean Poole - Frederick; Diane Kefauver - Frederick
a special uncle - Virgil Kefauver - Wolfsville
The family will receive friends on Friday April 8 at the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main St., Middletown from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.Middletown Volunteer Fire Co will have a memorial service 7 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held 10:30 AM on Saturday April 9 from Christ Reformed UCC, Middletown. Rev. Mark A. Wakefield and Rev. David Coblentz will officiate. Interment will be made in the Christ reformed UCC cemetery.
Memorial contrbutions may be made to Christ reformed UCC, POB 333, Middletown, MD 21769 or the Middletown Volunteer Fire Co., POB 322, Middletown, MD 21769

It is sad that Ronnie passed away. He contributed endless hours to the MVFC. His name and commitment will live on at MVFC. Everyone knows "Firefighters never die, We will meet again on the big one in the sky." Rest in Peace Ronnie.
