John Calvin Summers, 87, of Myersville, Md passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018, at the Veterans Affairs Center in Martinsburg WV. He was the son of the late Wilber and Estella (Clark) Summers of Myersville.
  
He graduated from Middletown High School, Class of 1948. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Myersville and Myersville Volunteer Fire Company. As a young man he worked at Myersville Motor Company, owned by his father. He served in the United States Air Force as an Aviation Mechanic from 1950 to 1954. He was an automobile enthusiast, and collected various vehicles including his favorite American Motors and Chrysler products. He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his loving family. He was an avid animal lover as well.
  
He is survived by his nephews; Larry Joe and Daniel Summers, Niece; Linda Quesenberry and husband Jerry. Great-nephew; Terry Quesenberry and wife Stacy and daughter Ellie, Great-niece; Ann Bolt and husband Kenneth and daughters Katherine and Courtney. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Summers in 2016 and his sister in law, Esther Harp Summers in 2017 and his nephew Mark Summers in 1976.
  
He will be greatly missed by his adoring cats; Rodger, Rochester, Bud, Henry, Bear, Eleanor, George and Tiggy Boy. If Anyone has in their hearts to adopt one of his beloved cats please contact his niece, Linda.
  
Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Saturday January 6, 2018 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Main St., Myersville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the church service. Rev. David Howell will officiate. Interment will be made in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
