Aloma Barbara Ann King, (73), passed away on August 2, 2017, at Pleasant View Nursing Home in Mt. Airy, MD, after a lengthy and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. She was the wife of the late Laurence J. King, Sr. for 26 years.

Born May 20, 1944 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Ruth Imelda Coughlin and Edward Coughlin.  She married in 1962 and had 5 children. She was a homemaker and daycare provider for many years. She lived in Rockville, MD until 1979 then relocated to Middletown, MD.  Once her children were older, Aloma worked at BonTon, Weis and Rite Aid.  After her husband died in 1987, she and her mother moved to Pittsville, MD where she worked as a greeter for Sam’s Club.  In  2006 (at 61) Aloma was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s Disease and moved back to Frederick, MD to
be with to her family.

She is survived by her five children, Bob King(Lynn), Chesapeake Beach, MD; Fred King(Teresa), Wolfsville, MD; Rose Knott(Steve), Frederick, MD; Larry King(Sandy), Frederick, MD; Kellie King-Cirko, Frederick, MD;
12 grandchildren, Rob King, Okracoke, NC; Chad King, Sharpsburg, MD, Ashley and Heather King, Wolfsville, MD,  Hannah Knott, Walkersville, MD, Jessica Knott, Frederick, MD, Stephanie Cirko, Walkersville, MD, Courtney, Gabriella and Steven Cirko, Frederick, MD and Ryanne and Nina King, Frederick, MD. 6 great-grandchilren; Lexi and Rosa King, Sharpsburg, MD;  Kai King, Ocracoke, NC; Levi Lowe, Wolfsville, MD; and Declan and Kaden Cirko, Frederick,MD

Special cousin Vicky Alexander, and special family member Lisa Yonkoski.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 10 between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm at Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, 31 E. Main Street Middletown, MD.  Funeral services will Friday, August 11 at 10:00 am, D B. Thompson Funeral Home with interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
