Leslie H. Long, Jr., Chambersburg, PA, formerly of Middletown died on April 6, 2017. He was born near Middletown, Md on April 14, 1929, to Leslie H. Long and Nellie Routzahn Long.
He served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, and married Rosetta Loraine Reese on August 4, 1953. He worked for Maryland and Virginia Milk Producers Cooperative for 35 years. After retiring, he continued to work part time at Weis Markets on Old Camp Road in Frederick, Md and also for Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home in Middletown.
He was a lifelong member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Middletown, MD, and attended the Men's Bible Class. He was also a member of the Middletown Volunteer Fire Company, serving in a variety of roles. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rosetta, his son Kevin and Kevin's wife Vicki in Chambersburg, Pa, two grandsons, Zachary Long (Harrisburg, Pa) and Joshua Long (Chambersburg, Pa), and one step-grandson Todd Working and Todd's wife Carmen, Lucas and Brady (Myersville, MD). Additionally, he is survived by his sister Viola Bussard (Frederick) and his twin sister, June Marsh (Middletown).
A Memorial Service is planned for Saturday, April 22 at 11:00 AM at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Middletown, Md, with an informal reception after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Middletown, Md.
